Like the wandering free spirit our name Barefoot Gypsy suggests, owner Maxine Smith was an insatiable global traveler. Deciding over three years ago to harness her love of people, travel and cultures, a business was born of the pieces she kept collecting, initially for her own home.

As the wealth of cultural beauty was revealed to her in each new global encounter- she knew she wanted to tell the stories of the artisan techniques and share the beauty that each craft tradition had to tell. Old and new celebrated equally, her ever-consuming passion for design, textiles, fashion and home wares allowed her to bring Barefoot Gypsy to fruition.

We offer FREE SHIPPING across Australia on all of our rugs. Unfortunately our rugs are not currently available to international customers.

Please allow approximately 3-5 days processing time for this product. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with a tracking number so that you can track the whereabouts of your parcel online via our courier company’s website.

As a guide, shipping times to Australian metro cities are generally as follows:

Metro Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide: 6-8 business daysMetro Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart and Perth: 8-14 business days

Please note that the above timeframes are estimates only and delivery times may vary during peak periods.

If you believe the item you have received is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number, name and address and the details of the product and it’s fault. We may ask that you provide us with photos of the product showing any damage/faults. Please advise us within seven days of receiving the faulty item, this allows us to arrange an exchange, repair or refund for you as quickly as possible in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Some of the items we stock are handmade and will have handmade characteristics. These are not faults and their uniqueness is to be embraced. These characteristics cannot be used as the basis for a refund. Please choose carefully and contact us if you would like more information about the product before purchasing.

We are unable to accept change of mind returns (with the exception of rugs).

RUG RETURNS

If the rug you have purchased is not the perfect fit, just return the item (undamaged and in it’s original condition) within 14 days of receipt of your delivery. We’ll even pay for return shipping. Once the rug is returned and assessed we will then provide you with a store credit/refund minus the 10% restocking fee. 

Colour variances are classified as a change of mind return & above charges apply. Please allow for colour to vary slightly, as every screen monitor is different. 

We reserve the right to reject any returns that do not meet these requirements.

If your rug arrives in less than perfect condition or you have received the wrong rug please contact us within 7 days.  We may ask that you provide us with photos of the product showing any damage/faults. This allows us to arrange an exchange, repair or refund for you as quickly as possible in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
