Our bed linen is using the very best quality of flax fiber.
Our luxurious stonewashed linen is beautiful to sleep on, linen is naturally antibacterial, antifungal and has great anti allergenic properties. It is able to absorb a large amount of water and moisture , and works as a thermo/cooling regulator , which allows the skin to breath, cool to the touch in summer and warm in winter.
No ironing needed. Machine washable, it becomes softer after every wash. The characteristics of the linen fabric are a great strength and durability, much stronger that cotton.
The farming of the flax plant from which its fiber is extracted is 100 % entirely transformed and used depending on its grade, the higher for home linen while lower grades are going in the paper industry or the automobile industry for its insulation properties. The Flax crop has a very quick growing cycle, it is 100 % renewable and requires up to 5 times lesser fertilisers and pesticides crops and 5 to 20 times less water compare to cotton .
Linen is considered as the most eco-friendly and sustainable fabric as entirely biodegradable and recyclable.
Taking care of your beautiful Jamie Kay Linen:
Always wash your linen bedding on your machine’s gentle cycle. If it is possible to select the water level in the washing machine, always use the maximum offered. Your bedding should move freely. Do not crowd the washing machine with too many items at once. This can cause twisting or pulling the linen fabric out of shape
Make sure that any other items in the washing machine are similar to your linen bedding in terms of colour, weight and washing instructions. Linen bedding as well as other home textile items made of linen have to be washed in cool or lukewarm temperatures – never in cold or hot.
Use only a mild detergent for washing and make sure that all of it is completely rinsed from the piece of clothing before drying.
Your linen bedding is prewashed during the production; it is safe to dry it in a dryer. Make the drying temperature low and remove the garment while it is still slightly damp.
Always try to dry your linen bedding flat out of direct sunlight. Hangers or clothespins can cause marks on the fabric and also cause deformation of the garment. Please note linen is a natural fibre that naturally fades slightly in direct sunlight like many other fibres.
If there is a need for ironing, iron your linen bedding while slightly damp.
